US action feature starring Abigail Breslin, Sean Bean and James Purefoy. Hannah Lee Baker (Breslin), an intelligent young woman with a love of chess, is a victim of her circumstances. Along with her sister Amber (Alexa Vega), she lives in fear of her Uncle Frank (Bean), a merciless gangster at the heart of the violence and drug dealing that blights the area. When Amber falls hopelessly in love with one of Frank's rivals, 'Wild' Bill Owens (Purefoy), Hannah realises that the situation presents an imminent danger. With reference to her favourite game chess, she decides that she will have to take control of the situation and pit various players against one another if she and Amber are to survive.
